Hi! I’m Donna Gaiser, the new 6930 District Governor. The excitement continues to grow as we embrace this year’s Rotary them of Rotary International President Mark Maloney: ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD.

Congratulations to the new District 6930 Presidents, Officers and Directors for this new year. The installations continue but have been wonderful—acknowledging the achievement and outstanding service for the past year while looking forward to what  lies ahead.

Also, welcome to our new and improving website. Please be patient as we revamp  the content and insert lively links to social media, club newsletters and webpages, and other links to Rotary International and our own district DACdb site. We strive to keep the content current and informative. Stay tuned!

Thank you to immediate Past District  Governor Julia Babbitt for her successful “Champions of Change” initiative. Our membership and foundation giving saw substantial improvements. Congratulations, Julia!

Our new District leadership includes District Governor Elect Els Van Engelenburg, of the Titusville Sunrise club, and District Governor Nominee Michael Walstrom, of the Boca Raton Downtown club. We welcome them to their new roles as they prepare to lead the district in the next couple of years. New to the District team is District Membership Chair Buck Vocelle of the Vero Beach Sunrise club. Buck is learning from the best, our past DMC Arthur Hodge. Thanks, Arthur, for your 3 successful years!

The District Rotary Foundation committee continues with the dynamic duo of Chair Jim Sisserson, Eau Gallie club, and Grants Chair Gene Burkett, Merritt Island club. Helping them is District Stewardship Chair Terri Wescott of the Boca Raton Downtown club. NOTHING gets past their scrutiny! Thanks for all you do in these complex and rewarding roles.

Does everybody know the 5 th part of the 4-Way Test? Yes. Is it FUN! This will be our overarching goal this year (and beyond!). Several items on this:

  • We will post regular videos on the new website, keeping all of us informed on important topics and events. (Hint: July is Literacy Month.)
  • Husband Carl is ready and willing to have his famous popcorn machine at any of your events. Contact us and we will calendar you in!
  • In lieu of official club visits, the clubs have the option to have the District Governor be at a signature event, a social, a fundraiser or any fun event of your choice. (If, however, a club meeting is best for your club and members, that’s what it will be!

For now, until there is more news on our webpage, please like our Rotary District 6930 Facebook page. Your pictures and posts go on regularly for all to see, so we can GROW ROTARY! Remember, we are the best Member organization there is!

Until next time,
Donna G. (DG)
